CHERI conducts conferences and research forums as part of its Outreach Program. The aim is to disseminate information to doctors, allied health professionals, teachers and parents.
Conferences
The essences of our conferences are knowledge, science and practical skills which provide opportunity, and promote life-long learning and fulfilment for the child, the family and all who support them. The title of our annual conference series is "Hippocrates and Socrates - a powerful partnership". Hippocrates, a Greek physician, (460BC - 377BC), was regarded as the "Father of Medicine", and Socrates, a philosopher, (469BC - 399BC), is the first key figure in western thought to develop a method that teachers can use to encourage students to think for themselves. Therefore, CHERI's conferences bring together the world's of health and education to present evidence, best practice and professional skills to focus on the individual child and children in general.
Research Forums
CHERI holds a number of research forums that aim to promote discussion, cooperation and collaborative research among researchers and professionals. The objectives are to present current research findings of children with significant medical, developmental, and/or psychological conditions.
